21 Conversations

A fun and easy warmer for teams to get to know each other.

An easy conversation starter for teams to get to know each other that included everyone.  A list of 21 questions covering random aspects are used as prompts for people to find out what they have in common with each other.

The game stimulates conversation, however, requires limited collobaration.  The game is very flexible and can be customized to cater for different types of people, groups and sizes.  There is some preparation needed before the game can be used, however it is easy to use.

The Game

Time required: 15 - 30 minutes

Group size: 5 - unlimited

The facilitator prepares a list of 21 questions that appeals to the audience on a wide range of subjects. Prepare a simple form with the game rules at the top and then the list of questions with space to write the names of people and some notes.

1. Find as many people as possible within the time set where the answer is true and write their name with some notes in the provided space on the form.

2. Receive bonus points for finding out interesting about your team.

3. Find out as much as you can about everyone.

1. Hand out the forms to each person and explain the rules.

2. Set the timer to 15 minutes (depending on the size of the group and go!

3. When the timer stops, call everyone together.

4. Award random prizes based on the answers. For example, the most interesting or surprising fact you discovered. The question most of the group had in common, the person who found out the most about an individual etc.

For teams from different business units, change the objective to find out as much as you can about the other team.

For larger groups, limit the number of questions to 3 - 5 and only allow 30 seconds per person (speed date version).

For smaller groups, replace the list with random questions in a bag. Let each person select a question and guess who will be most likely to answer it correctly.
