Who is this for?

This weekend is designed for digital nomads, design thinkers, system thinkers, innovators, entrepreneurs and builders who are curious about better tools for thinking, testing, and creating solutions. Whether you're brand new or experienced, you’ll learn a practical, step-by-step way to define problems, generate ideas, validate assumptions, and prototype using AI.

What will I take away?

By Sunday evening, you’ll have a tangible and interactive working prototype of a solution to a real-world problem, along with the skills and confidence to apply the design process to any challenge you face. You’ll also have a network of like-minded peers to support you on your journey.

Where and when will it be?

This is a fully remote event, so you can join from anywhere in the world. The event will run from Friday evening to Sunday evening in the UCT+2 timezone, with a mix of live sessions and self-paced work. Friday kicks off the weekend with an online theme reveal and collaborative brainstorming session. We'll also form teams based on your interest.

Saturday we'll start the day with a collaborative problem framing workshop to prepare for user research before heading out into the real world to talk with real people. After lunch we'll share our insights and start designing a prototype. In the evening you'll have the opportunity to get feedback, Dragon's Den style.

Sunday you'll finalize your prototypes after pitching it to the rest of the jammers and learn how to validate your idea before finalizing the details and uploading it to the online portal.

How much time do I need to commit?

It's up to you and your team exactly how much time you spend on the jam, but to get the most out of it, it will take up most of your weekend. We have online workshops at the start, middle, and end of each day and the rest of the time is free to choose how much effort you want to put into your project.

Will I be able to join a team?

Yes! We'll facilitate team formation as part of the introduction and theme reveal on Friday night. After an initial brainstorm, you can join with the people who have the same interest as you. As long as there's not more than 5 people in a single team.

Do I need to prepare anything?

No preparation needed. The global theme is secret and revealed on Friday night. Just bring curiosity, an open mind, and a willingness to experiment. The rest will be provided for you. We’ll send out a detailed schedule and instructions on how to join the sessions closer to the event. Keep watching your inbox for updates!

What role does AI play?

To speed things up, we'll integrate AI throughout the weekend with prompts and tips on using prompts and an introduction to vibe coding tools you might want to use to build your own software app.

What if I sign up and then can't make it?

Because teams rely on full participation, we strongly encourage only signing up if you can commit to the entire weekend. Respect for the group is part of the experience. If you really can't make it or something pops up that keeps you from participating, please communicate pro-actively to your team members.
